So, the past week was odd in all the loveliest of ways.
The start of last week was completely horrendous...I wish I took a picture of my room because it was a complete reflection of my life, how I felt and looked...utter chaos and dysfunctional.
However, I knew Monday and Tuesday were going to be extremely difficult and full of self-pity, so I was really proactive about planning out little pockets of time each day to do something that would provide a little comfort and peace in my life...the weather and having freshly waxed legs definitely helped as well =P
Here are a bunch of random happies that got me through the week:
1. Recording a video outside (and the bees were nice enough not to punch me in the face while doing so...thank you, carpenter bees ^_^)
2. My daddy made me breakfast (2 eggs over-easy and toast <3), and I got to eat with my family before heading out to school...this is extremely rare, as I am always running late to everything, bolting out of the house shouting "I LOVE YOU!"...with the occasional tripping on the doormat...OCCASIONAL!
3. Um, THE WEATHER!!! hehe wore a skirt/dress everyday I could =)
4. Tim Be Told & Jason Min Concert at USP
5. Rittenhouse Park Picnic with Holly and Ev <3 + 5Guys
6. Guy at Starbucks who wished me a good day 2 minutes after he had served my coffee...Something about the way he said it was so genuine, like he thought about it and wanted to say it to me. HAHA or maybe I just really wanted to hear someone say that to me...HAHA
7. Philippians 1:3-11
8. Sitting in on Bob Skaler's lecture at The Wagner Institute (<3!!!) on the history of North Broad Street
9. Getting my thesis topic approved by my professor
10. Full Measure Saturdays: Saturday morning worship, practice, silly time, Greek Lady, gig at the bombest church in West Philly, Saving Thomas, Raymond came too, fried chicken + mac n'cheese outside on THE yellow blankie, football toss, sore arms, drive home happies!
11. Went to brother's TaeKwonDo tournament he was coaching...made me want to be a fighter...what's Bruce Lee's favorite drink?!...WAAATTTAHHHHHHHHHH~~~!
And I have one last one I would like set apart from the rest:
12. Yesterday was Easter Sunday...what I like to call Jesus Day...well I call every Sunday Jesus Day, but that's beside the point...
Anyhoo, the sermon gave a completely new insight on the gospels, testimonies, and confirmation of the reality of Jesus Christ, my Shepherd and King, my bestie and inspiration, my very breath and comfort, my foundation and guardian...and Jesus, Thank YOU for the Word placed in my heart, thank YOU for keeping my family the way it is, thank YOU for allowing me to make the train every morning so that I won't miss class, thank YOU for showing me that even through my failures, your plans still reign and remain untouched by my staining hands...you rock my socks every day, ALL DAY, Jesus...and it is in YOUR freedom, I will live. I want to be your little Ellen forever and ever and ever...thanks for letting that be possible <3
Smile Big,
E.H.
